AAR Showcases Innovative Crew Rest Unit at Aircraft Interiors Expo
New product utilizes space below cabin; major supplier TTF Aerospace a co-exhibitor
HAMBURG, Germany – AAR’s new crew rest unit with advanced features and higher comfortability is being featured at the Aircraft Interiors Expo April 9-11 in Hamburg.
AAR Engineering Services is co-exhibiting with TTF Aerospace, a major supplier, to showcase a joint-marketed lie flat crew rest product. Such crew rests are expected to see increased European demand as upcoming changes by the European Aviation Safety Agency take effect.
“We are excited to have a life-size cutaway model of our lower lobe crew rest unit on display,” said Ron Eaton, Vice President, AAR Engineering Services. “This product takes advantage of the quiet area below the main deck to provide flight or cabin crew a place to rest in comfort, convenience and safety, while freeing up space on the main deck for additional seating and increased revenue opportunities.”
AAR and TTF are exhibiting at booth 5D68, where visitors can experience the comforts of the unit and learn about its benefits. A leader in composite interiors, AAR recently received FAA certification of its new Off Shore Airliner (OSA) interior design for Sikorsky’s S-92® fleet of offshore utility aircraft. The company also provides precision machining services for several hundred aircraft.
The Aircraft Interiors Expo is the world’s largest event dedicated to the aircraft interiors industry. It draws approximately 8,000 visitors and 550 exhibitors each year.
“As airlines strive for profitability, they continue to look more towards outsourcing for greater efficiency and cost savings,” Eaton said. “We are able to provide an expanded talent pool that gives our customers access to a wide variety of disciplines and level of expertise they might not possess in-house.”
